Brian in Friesling
Accidentally got pulled into a great bierfest in Friesling. This is the brief moment no one was on the table.
Schwangau (Schloss Neuschwanstein):
oday we hung out at a pair of castles. Fun, but navigation when the train track broke was tricky. Relaxing now with an Austrian red wine.
Started out at Amsterdam Centraal.
Then, lunch at a brewery (Alt bier!):
Followed by a long walk in old town:
On to the Fashion district (after cake):
Back to the hotel for lovely dry German wine.
The next day was a long train ride to Munich.
Beautiful weather at Devil’s Punchbowl!
Horseshoes in the park with some punks and some Rainiers on the holiday. Awesome. Happy 4th of July all!
My cousin Shelley came for a visit. She is a chef, so there were one million places I wanted her to try in Portland, but predictably only made it to a few.
We did have a lovely lunch in our garden:

And followed that up by driving to wine country in Dundee for a few tastings. We stopped at Argyle (Shelley wanted to try their sparkling wine), Winderlea and Torii Mor. Brian and I joined the wine club at Winderlea which will encourage us to go more frequently.

Mt Jefferson in the background looks quite large from here in real life but my old phone doesn’t really capture it
Knitting; watching horseshoes; listening to the guy playing Ozzy Osbourne on the accordian. Happy.
