I know! It is very strange how distinctive my memories of their living room are. I'd kill to have a picture of it; I think I'd try to recreate it then.

Oh, it's so funny that you should post this because their living room seems to be one of my major childhood memories!

Maybe this is the protective father in me, but that is just about the most disturbing thing I've ever seen. Beautiful, but disturbing.

You know, it was really strange. I'm usually pretty good at spotting men dressed as women / women dressed as men, and he was so spot on well-made-up it was crazy. His makeup was so well done, when I thought he was a woman, I was thinking about how flawless "her" makeup was.

The more I look back on it, the more it kinda creeps me out. He was definitely extremely sophisticated. It was sorta like watching a movie, his movements were so precise and deliberate. The small leather bible he took out was a bible, and was clearly used a lot. It was in English. The newspaper he was reading was in Cyrillic - maybe Russian? And he did seem to be reading it.

He never look at anyone. He never made eye contact, but it was pretty obvious he knew where each and every person was on the bus. The eyes-cast-down thing wasn't the sort of eyes-cast-down-because-I'm-insecure but clearly a "I don't want you to know who I'm watching."

What an awesome alibi though - between his makeup and the bulky ankle-length coat he was wearing, what would they be able to do with any store footage of him shoplifting? It's not like there'd be *anything* you could go on to identify him. And given how expertly his costume was put together (he had an extremely expensive leather purse, and also a "farmer's market" sort of bag - the farmer's market sort of bag had a small bouquet of flowers in it. I'm sure it was so that every subconscious reading a person had was "woman" rather than "man") I'm guessing he'd be able to create a new persona pretty easily.

The thing about it that wigs me out is that his reactions and his behaviors make me think he was probably a sociopath of some sort, and that is one of the rare things that scares me - it is such a completely alien thought process.

Agreed on the creepy, also kinda fascinating. So do you think crazy was just part of the ruse? I can't imagine the gift cards were actually "loaded". They're each activated at the time of purchase right? Did s/he just grab a bunch of blanks thinking they were of value or is this person extremely sophisticated?

Also, two things I think are interesting:

1. Why does the Student Health Services share a wall with McDonald's? Doesn't anyone else think that's very odd?

2. Things have changed since I was a student last. My ID is a credit card, yikes!

Weren't you drinking gin drinks? I remember you drinking Aviation gin, but not mixed drinks. What kind of liquor did it have, do you remember?

O, that sounds very cool - if you make it back out there, take pictures of the church and send them to me, it sounds awesome.
